NWA Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa was interviewed on Wednesday’s Busted Open Radio. Rosa will wrestle AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida this Saturday at the All Out pay-per-view.
Here are some highlights from the interview:
Thunder Rosa was asked how she is allowed to appear on the AEW PPV: “I don’t know. It just happened. AEW contacted me. I passed it on to the NWA management and they made their magic. Then they said I was doing All Out and I was like, wow, I am really excited.”
Rosa: “There’s always pressure but why am I going to stress about it? I’m going to do everything I can to represent the company I work for, the company that gave me a big shot. They were able to help me make history. I want to enjoy this moment because in the last 6 years, every time a big opportunity comes like this, I’m already looking for the next thing. This time, I decided when I got the call, I’m going to enjoy the little time I’m going to be here and make the best out of it and not get so stressed or anxious about things I have no control over. When I get in the ring, I’m going to perform my best and give the people what they want to see”
Rosa was asked what the vibe is like in AEW as an outsider: “I worked with probably 90% of the people. Guys from Lucha Underground, a couple from NWA that used to work there and a lot of the talent over the years. It is very welcoming.”
What is next for the NWA?: “What I know is we are working in Los Angeles with David Marquez. They just announced they will be doing TV shows over there. Nick (Aldis) is going on the 15th for the first taping and then I’m coming after to defend my championship. I think that’s what we are going to be until the pandemic is over. We are also being more active looking for independent bookings to defend the championship. I will continue to defend the championship. All the places just need to go through the chain of command.”
