Thunder Rosa Refutes Report About Her Health

Thunder Rosa has clarified where things stand with her health and in-ring status.

Earlier this month, the AEW star revealed she has been sidelined with a concussion and is expected to be out of action for a few weeks. Rosa encouraged wrestlers who thought they might have a concussion to stop and not continue to wrestle, as it was not worth it.

Rosa last wrestled on the August 31st episode of AEW Collision, where she faced Hikaru Shida, Serena Deeb, and Queen Aminata in a four-way bout. Fans were happy to see the former AEW Women’s Champion at a San Diego Padres baseball game this past week, where she threw out the first pitch.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Rosa has been cleared to return. However, that’s not true. Rosa took to her Instagram account to note that she’s not medically cleared.

“I just wanna make something very clear. I just got a note from the dirt sheets that I’ve been cleared to wrestle after I got a concussion. No I am not cleared. I was following the [Concussion] protocol this Wednesday and I’m not cleared to wrestle. So if you’re a dirt sheet writer, anyone, ask me about my health directly. Cause I am not cleared to wrestle. When I am cleared, when my doctors tell me I can wrestle, I will personally announce it. Stop putting things that are not right and not true.….I am not cleared to wrestle. I can only do certain things because I am following concussion protocol and it’s important to follow it and they’re looking very closely on my progress.”

We hope to see her back in the ring soon.
