TNA President Carlos Silva Denies Intentional Blood Ban, Clarifies Stance

TNA Wrestling President Carlos Silva has directly refuted recent reports alleging the company had banned intentional bleeding in its matches. Speaking to The Takedown on SI, Silva clarified TNA’s position following internal discussions with talent.

While acknowledging TNA is mindful of potential advertisers and partners as it seeks a new media rights deal, Silva stated there is no outright ban on intentional blood. He explained that a recent meeting with talent, which followed some particularly violent matches like a barbed wire brawl and a dog collar match, was intended to encourage a more “impactful” and sparing use of such elements, rather than an outright prohibition.

Silva noted that TNA remains open to utilizing intentional bleeding if the storyline or stakes of a match warrant it. He conveyed that if creative or talent feel it is “earned,” it is “absolutely” something TNA is open to exploring.

While viewers may see less frequent explicit bloodshed, Silva confirmed it remains a tool in TNA’s creative arsenal when appropriate and not overused.
