Toni Storm Says She Is Retiring From AEW And Pro Wrestling

In a bit of shocking news, it was announced via SB Nation interview with Toni Storm that she is retiring from AEW and pro wrestling.

Storm reportedly apologized for “being such a failure” and she added that fans should not expect to see her in other promotions such NJPW or CMLL. Storm said, “I’ve failed at everything. I lost in AEW, I lost in Japan, I lost in Mexico. This is the last you’ll hear from me again. Enjoy Mariah May as your champion. You can all enjoy that”

Storm claimed that she’s had no communication with Tony Khan about her decision to retire and she is currently in an “undisclosed location.” She added that fans should not expect to hear from her again.

The interview ended with a variation of her trademark quote, “Chin down. Tits in. Don’t bother watching for the shoe.”

Storm lost the AEW Women’s World Championship to Mariah May on 8/25 at the All In pay-per-view. She hasn’t been seen on TV since then. Needless to say, the retirement announcement appears to be just playing into the storyline for her eventual return.

At AEW Full Gear this Saturday night on pay-per-view, Mariah May will have a champaign title celebration with Mina Shirakawa. If Storm is returning, that would be a good time for it to happen.
