Tonight’s AEW Dark will feature the first intergender match in company history

The first-ever intergender match in company history will take place tonight on AEW Dark. The idea to do the match came from Kenny Omega after Tony Khan was seemingly not on board with the idea at first.

During last year’s Fyter Press post-show press conference, Khan said that he was not thrilled with seeing Jordynne Grace getting hit in the face at All In so his stance was that we would not see men wrestling women on AEW shows. It looks like Omega was able to convince him to give the idea a try.

The match was filmed aboard Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager At Sea two weeks ago.

Here is what’s scheduled for tonight’s AEW Dark on YouTube:

  • Riho and Kenny Omega vs. Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford
  • Hikaru Shida vs. Mel
  • Best Friends vs. Shawn Spears and Colin Delaney
  • Brandon Cutler and Sonny Kiss vs. Jungle Boy and Marko Stunt

As always, the show premieres at 7 pm eastern.
