Tony Khan Addresses WWE Holding Event In Same City On The Same Night As AEW Worlds End

WWE has faced AEW in the past and did so again on Saturday night as AEW held its Worlds End pay-per-view event on Saturday at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.

AEW first announced their event before WWE announced they would run a house show from the Kia Center in Orlando, FL, on that same night. The two locations were just minutes apart.

At the AEW Worlds End post-show media scrum, AEW CEO Tony Khan discussed WWE going head-to-head with AEW.

Khan stated, “It’s great for the city of Orlando with two major pro wrestling events happening on the same night. There were thousands and thousands of fans at both shows. We had a capacity crowd here. It was so great being here at UCF. This arena has been a tremendous host at the Addition Financial Arena, and for us and the community, it was great to have such amazing support from the fans. It shows how strong worldwide pro wrestling, particularly here in the United States, is to have in one major American city with two promotions running head-to-head on the same night, to have two great crowds. I know our fans here were awesome, and it was a great show tonight, thanks to the Orlando fans. They were tremendous.”
