Tony Khan has addressed a new trademark filed by AEW.
AEW did so on September 6 for “AEW: Shockwave” for “Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests.” It’s unclear exactly how the promotion will use the trademark.
While speaking with the media following AEW All Out, which had various newsworthy moments, including Jon Moxley putting a plastic bag over AEW World Heavyweight Champion Bryan Danielson and Hangman Page using a needle/chair shot to the head of Swereve Strickland in the main event, Khan spoke about it.
Khan said, “I think it would be safe to say that AEW is set to create a shockwave throughout all of professional wrestling. I think people are going to be talking about what they saw at AEW All Out, which was a huge business success for us, did really really well at the NOW Arena, big sell out show, and also really well on pay-per-view. I think it bodes well and creates anticipation for Wednesday night on Dynamite on TBS. We’ll continue to send that shockwave through the world of professional wrestling here at AEW.”
