Since last November, AEW has been releasing weekly rankings for its three divisions – women’s, tag team, and men’s.
The way it works is the talent will be listed in rankings by their match records. These rankings determine who will be in line to challenge the champion of each division.
Now that All elite Wrestling is introducing the TNT Championship, some fans have wondered how this new title will impact the rankings and if a new division is being created because of it.
However, AEW President Tony Khan responded to a fan on Twitter to clarify how it will work. The TNT Champion will join the AEW World Heavyweight Champion above the men’s rankings.
“Good question. It’ll be a similar format, but going forward we’ll have the 2 male singles champions ranked at the top above the Top 5.”
