AEW President Tony Khan has announced that the ceremony to induct wrestling legend Taz into the 2300 Arena’s Hardcore Hall of Fame has been moved. The induction will now take place on this Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite instead of the initially planned spot on AEW Collision.
Taz’s Hardcore Hall Of Fame Induction Moved
Speaking at the ROH Death Before Dishonor media scrum on Friday, Tony Khan explained that Taz himself had requested the change so that more of his family could be in attendance for the special moment.
“He asked for more time to get his family and everybody lined up,” Khan explained. “It’s for him. It’s the least we can do for Taz….it’s a real honor for us to do that for him in this building. Taz is an indespensible part of the team.”
An Honor For The ECW Legend Taz
The 2300 Arena in Philadelphia is the building formerly known as the ECW Arena, the home of Extreme Championship Wrestling. Taz was one of the promotion’s biggest stars throughout the 1990s, holding the ECW World Heavyweight and World Television Championships.
Khan surprised Taz with the announcement of the honor on the August 27 episode of AEW Dynamite, which was the first show of AEW’s multi-week residency at the iconic venue.
