AEW has seen a decline in overall interest, with ticket sales being down and a drop in television ratings. However, it is still the second biggest promotion in the world, with some of the biggest names in today’s era of pro wrestling.
AEW has also been building momentum as of late. The promotion was praised for the recent angle on Collision, where Toni Storm revealed she had been playing up how her character had dementia to further build up her program with Women’s Champion Mariah May.
The two stars will meet at the Grand Slam: Australia special next month. AEW also has its Revolution PPV in March.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that those in AEW were understandably pumped for this past week’s Collision, and they feel they did really well. It was added, “Tony Khan has been said to have been more in the weeds creatively of late.”
