Tony Khan has surprises planned for tonight’s AEW Dynamite

More talent is slated to make their way to All Elite Wrestling. During his weekly appearance on Busted Open Radio, AEW President Tony Khan stated the mystery jokers will be “debuting” tonight on Dynamite, confirming that it won’t be anyone from the current roster. He added that the debuting wrestlers are “fun arrivals.”

There will be four Owen Hart Tournament matches on tonight’s Dynamite. Jeff Hardy vs. Adam Cole in a semi-final bout while Kyle O’Reilly vs. Rey Fenix will take part in a quarter-final match.

Britt Baker and Samoa Joe are slated to take on the mystery opponents, billed as jokers, in their respective quarter-final matches. It’s unclear who will be debuting. The recent WWE NXT talent that was cut last month won’t be free of their 30-day non-competes until May 29th.

Cesaro (Claudio Castagnoli) is a top free agent still on the market after not coming to terms with WWE on a new deal earlier this year, but there’s no indication of what his plans are. As recently reported, several wrestling promoters are interested in booking him, but he has a significant asking price or in some cases, promoters have not heard back from him.

Also on the card includes AEW World Heavyweight Champion Hangman Page vs. Takeshita in a non-title match, CM Punk on commentary, Chris Jericho confronting William Regal, and Wardlow taking 10 lashes as part of the stipulations to get his Double or Nothing match with MJF.
