Coming off the heels of the 2025 Ring of Honor Final Battle pay-per-view, the post-show media scrum took place, hosted by ROH commentator Ian Riccaboni and AEW/ROH owner Tony Khan in Columbus, Ohio. During the scrum session, Khan was asked if there could be an AEW all-women’s pay-per-view. Khan said he thinks it would be great to do that and suggested a Global Wars special featuring women wrestlers from all over.
Khan shared that he is happy with the progress of the women’s division in both his companies. He stated, “I think certainly having more events that include more and more women’s championships and matches has been fantastic. I think the depth of the women’s wrestling in AEW and ROH has just continued to get better and better.” He is open to the idea of a women’s-only event, confirming, “Absolutely. Whatever platform or however it were to happen, there’s a lot of ways it could happen.”
Khan then elaborated on the Global Wars concept for the women’s roster. He mentioned that the previous Global Wars events have been fantastic and bringing women from all over to have a Global Wars event like that is something he has also thought about.
He clarified the nature of the event, explaining, “Global Wars technically is a streaming special. We don’t call it a pay-per-view, but really it all is on the same app, and you’re paying for the whole thing the same.”
Khan concluded that an all-women’s event is something he is actively considering. He confirmed, “Definitely an event, an all-women’s event with women from all over is something I have thought about and again, potentially a Global Wars, bringing women from all over could be great too.”
This potential new special would build on the current momentum of AEW’s women’s division, which has seen its best year yet with the introduction of the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship in September 2025, with the inaugural champions expected to be crowned at the Dynamite: Winter is Coming show in Atlanta, Georgia.
