Tony Khan: It’s The Most Important Time Ever In AEW. We’re On The Verge Of The Most Important Deal We’ll Ever Make

AEW’s TV rights deal continues to be a hot topic among fans as it expires with Warner Bros. Discovery at the end of this year. AEW President Tony Khan met with WBD CEO David Zaslav last week in Paris, something of which Khan has commented on via Twitter.

Although it was recently reported that an agreement had been tentatively reached, and things could change as they enter final talks, an official announcement has yet to be made.

While speaking with Case the Producer from Q101’s Brian & Kenzie Morning Show, Khan was asked how AEW has changed in the five years since they launched, leading him to discuss about AEW’s media rights.

Khan said, “It’s changed a lot, but I think there’s a lot of great growth and things that I’m really very happy about to have AEW where we started with two hours a week on TNT and it’s grown to five hours on TBS and TNT going from one night at TV a week to three. These are exciting opportunities, and right now, it’s the most important time ever in AEW. We’re on the verge of the most important deal we’ll ever make this upcoming media rights, and you know it’s been great working with Warner Brothers Discovery on the future. For all these years, we’ve had so much great experience with Warner Brothers Discovery.

Khan later continued, “We’ve grown as a company. We’ve gotten really strong there in building these relationships, and I think now over five years, it’s really been building to this point where AEW is going to jump into the media rights and be a very profitable, successful company that has lived up to every expectation we ever could have had because we’ve done so many amazing things in these years.”
