All Elite Wrestling has advertised that company President and CEO Tony Khan will make an “important announcement” on this coming Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite. The broadcast will take place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and follows tonight’s All Out pay-per-view event.
Details regarding the subject of Khan’s announcement have not been revealed. The company has historically used these segments on Dynamite to reveal significant news, including major events and business partnerships.
For historical context, one of the most notable past announcements from Khan on Dynamite was the reveal of the first-ever Forbidden Door pay-per-view in 2022. The segment featured Khan alongside the president of New Japan Pro-Wrestling to announce the crossover event, which took place at the United Center in Chicago.
Another major announcement occurred in 2023, when Khan used a segment on Dynamite to announce that tickets for the following year’s All In event at London’s Wembley Stadium would be going on sale. That event went on to set multiple attendance and revenue records for the company.
In addition to the announcement, AEW has also scheduled a major six-man tag team match for the Pittsburgh show. The team of Kazuchika Okada, Konosuke Takeshita, and Hechicero will take on Mark Briscoe, Hologram, and a mystery partner.
The identity of the mystery competitor was heavily teased during the All Out broadcast. In a backstage segment, Mark Briscoe was seen speaking with Kyle O’Reilly, asking him if their partner was ready. O’Reilly, who was on the phone with the mystery person, replied with a simple, “whatever.” This is the signature catchphrase of former AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy, indicating he will likely be the mystery partner, marking his return to AEW programming.
