Tony Khan responds to troll accusing him of paying journalists to cover AEW

All Elite Wrestling has been getting a lot of press as of late from various media outlets such as The Washington Post and more.

In an article published by The Washington Post, they looked at AEW’s rise in popularity as well as being a real competitor to WWE. AEW President Tony Khan was quoted in the article.

A fan on Twitter criticized the article by writing the following on Twitter:

“What a f*cking embarrassing human being paying journalists to write articles about aew being a competitor to WWE, is it a coincidence in the last few weeks, the washington post,Variety,Business Insider,Forbes and many more mainstream websites all have the same headlines? Lol”

Khan took notice of this person’s take and responded by writing, “You have totally busted me Andrew09123, clearly I must have paid off Washington Post, Variety, Business Insider, + Forbes to talk about how @AEW is a great wrestling company bringing competition to the wrestling business. Or maybe they all saw what’s happening & saw a good story?”

Khan has coined the phrase, watch your wrestling, as he wants all fans to enjoy whatever product whether that be AEW or WWE. He even trademarked the phrase. Khan also did an interview with PWTorch about a wide range of topics including the success that CM Punk has brought to AEW, how the script of AEW shows are handled, and more.
