AEW President Tony Khan said he would “love to” appear on The Coach and Bro Show with Jonathan Coachman and Vince Russo, praising both men and singling out Russo’s work with Juggalo Championship Wrestling’s JCW Lunacy in a social media exchange that caught many in the wrestling community off guard.
The interaction began when a fan suggested on X that Khan appearing on the show hosted by Coachman and Russo might get him to give AEW another look. Coachman quoted the fan and posted a public open invitation to Khan.
“We have an open invitation for Tony Khan to come on our show,” Coachman wrote. “We had a great conversation today with one of his female stars Maya. If he came on shows like ours instead of podcasts of people will only ask questions they want to know instead of asking questions to make him think about how he is going about his business. Then maybe a few things would change.”
Coachman added: “I know this from my time in the WWE you can’t possibly have all of the ideas and the more good people you put around you normally the better any product is. Come on Tony. Any day.”
Khan responded. “I would love to come on the show with you and Vince Russo, Coach! I’ve been a fan of both of yours for many years!” Khan wrote. “Also I think that Vince is doing a tremendous job on JCW Lunacy, which I enjoy very much.”
Russo followed up immediately. “Tony, it would be an honor, seriously. When can we do this? We’re LIVE on Stadium at 11 am EST on Thursdays,” Russo wrote.
The exchange surprised many fans because Coachman and Russo have been known to offer blunt and often critical takes on modern wrestling, including AEW, on their shows. Coachman is a former WWE on-air talent, interviewer, and commentator who also worked in sports broadcasting. Russo is the controversial former head writer behind the Attitude Era’s peak in the late 1990s and later served as head writer for WCW and TNA. He currently writes and produces for Juggalo Championship Wrestling’s JCW Lunacy program, which Khan specifically praised.
No date has been confirmed for the appearance. The Coach and Bro Show airs live on Stadium on Thursdays at 11 AM ET.
