AEW has been plagued with injured talent, but they will get one of their biggest stars back soon.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that Hangman Page is returning after being away since early March when he lost at the AEW Revolution pay-per-view event while in a feud for the AEW World Heavyweight Title.
His fourth-month absence was not due to injury but rather due to personal reasons, and he had contractually obligated time off to tend to.
Per the report, he is slated to return, although an exact date has yet to be revealed. They were told it’s expected to be within the next month, likely by early July. There’s no word yet on what the creative plans are for him, although he is expected to remain a heel.
Although not confirmed, it’s possible time will be added to his deal due to his absence, but it could be worked in as the absence wasn’t a surprise, and both sides knew it was coming. It should be noted that Dynamite is near his home this week, although they’ve not heard if he’s planned to be at the show.
