Top AEW Star Returning Sooner Than Originally Expected

AEW won’t be without one of its top stars for long.

Swerve Strickland and Hangman Page are talking coming out of their Unsanctioned Steel Cage Match, which took place at the AEW All Out pay-per-view event at NOW Arena in Chicago, IL. The match had several extreme moments, including bumps on a cinderblock. Swerve hit a foot stomp through a table and even used an edge of burnt wood to stab Page in the head.

The finish saw Page use a needle and then stabbed him in the mouth with it. Page hit a chair shot to the head that knocked out Swerve. Coming out of the show, it was reported Strickland was taking time off from AEW.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that they were told Swerve would be back sooner than originally expected. With the WrestleDream pay-per-view event coming up on October 12th in Swerve’s home state of Washington, it would make sense for him to be on the show.

It’s unclear exactly when he will be returning.
