Trent's mom was a late addition to AEW storylines, Best Friends talk about getting more TV time during COVID era



This week on "AEW Unrestricted," Tony Schiavone and Aubrey Edwards welcomed The Best Friends, Trent, Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy.

They talked about Sue (Trent's mom) and her minivan, their friendship, how they became a team, how they got to AEW, the independent scene, wrestling in Japan, how Trent and Chuck befriended Orange Cassidy and much more.

Trent talked about the idea of coming to the arena in Trent’ mom’s van: “We were watching the show and realized there was a week where there were like four different people coming in their car. As a joke, I said as a joke that it would be funny if my mom dropped us off in her van. That was like a week before we did it. We told Tony and he was like, 'yea.' My mom was excited to do it.”

Best Friends talked about getting more TV time due to the COVID situation: “We were sporadically on Dynamite and on Dark a lot which we were happy to do. During the pandemic the roster got smaller, we got a chance to be featured more. We have been on Dynamite almost every week.”

Best Friends discussed why they signed with AEW: “Part of the reasons we decided to sign here was because we knew Matt and Nick (Jackson) were going to put an emphasis on tag-team wrestling.”
