All Elite Wrestling stars Queen Aminata and Deonna Purrazzo posted on social media on Wednesday night, expressing an interest in more television opportunities, specifically more promo time and inclusion in mixed tag team matches. The posts occurred on a night when AEW featured a mixed tornado tag team match on its program, Dynamite.
Aminata posted on the social media site X, “I’m just gonna put this out there ( cough… cough …. Tk lol ): I need more promo time and I would love to be in these mixed tag matches”. AEW wrestler Deonna Purrazzo replied to the post, adding, “Sign me up too…”.
In replies to fans, Aminata commented further on the topic. In response to a fan who said she needed more promo time, Aminata wrote, “I do… wanna be good at it so I need to practice more”. When asked who she would want to team with, she stated, “I’m open minded,” and in response to a request for a match with Sareee, she replied, “I’m down for whatever and whoever”.
The requests from the two performers come as AEW is planning an expansion of its women’s division. Company President Tony Khan recently announced the creation of AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships. The company has a large roster, and talent is often rotated on and off television storylines.
Queen Aminata is from Guinea and was officially signed to an AEW contract in February 2024. She had been making appearances on AEW programming since 2021. Following her signing, she competed in a tournament in AEW’s sister promotion, Ring of Honor (ROH), to crown the inaugural ROH Women’s World Television Champion, advancing to the finals at the Supercard of Honor event.
Since signing her contract, Aminata has challenged for multiple championships. She had a match for the ROH Women’s World Championship against Athena at Death Before Dishonor and a match for the AEW TBS Championship against Mercedes Moné on the October 16 episode of Dynamite. Before her wrestling career, Aminata immigrated to the United States from Guinea in 2013 and studied private international law in Paris, France.
Deonna Purrazzo is a three-time former Impact Knockouts Champion and a former ROH Women’s World Champion. Her career has included runs in WWE, Stardom, and TNA/Impact Wrestling. Purrazzo signed with AEW in January 2024.
The social media posts from both wrestlers occurred as AEW prepares to introduce a women’s tag team division.
