The first details on the buy rate for the latest pay-per-view event presented by AEW, Full Gear, has surfaced online.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that PPV buys for Full Gear ended up at about 100,000, or slightly below. This is from digital buys.
The number is considered to be disappointing since it was similar to All Out’s buys. The difference between All Out and Full Gear is the fact that Full Gear had several weeks of television to build up the show on TNT. Meltzer doesn’t have numbers from cable companies yet.
Back in September, Meltzer estimated that All Out did around 101,000 total buys while Double or Nothing did 109,000 to 111,000.
Jon Moxley vs. Kenny Omega in an unsanctioned lights out match headlined the AEW Full Gear pay-per-view event from the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland.
Although AEW has yet to officially announce the date and location for their next pay-per-view event, it’s expected to take place in the first quarter of 2020.
