Update on the name for the AEW on TNT show

Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the name sent to the cable company for their guides simply say “All Elite Wrestling” for the 10/2 debut show on TNT and there is no reference to the rumored “Wednesday Night Dynamite” name that was trademarked a few months ago. News on the name of the show is expected to come soon.

The only thing we do know is that Tony Khan does not want the name to simply be “All Elite Wrestling.” Over the weekend, some fans at Starrcast noticed an “All Elite Fleet” banner and there was speculation that would be the name of the show but I was told that is not the case.

Here is what will appear in the cable TV listings when they are updated:

“The inaugural weekly card, from Washington, D.C. AEW introduces statistics to pro wrestling and allows competitors to showcase their athleticism. Chris Jericho, The Young Bucks and Cody and Brandi Rhodes are among the headliners.”

Announced so far for the 10/2 show:

– Cody Rhodes vs. Sammy Guevara
– Jon Moxley will appear live
– Chris Jericho and two mystery partners vs. Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks.

AEW on TNT will air every Wednesday night at 8 pm eastern.
