Updated Timeline For The Return Of Eddie Kingston

Speculation is mounting that Eddie Kingston could make his return to All Elite Wrestling at this Sunday’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view, potentially linked to the Anarchy in the Arena match.

The Anarchy in the Arena match is currently announced as a six-on-six bout pitting Kenny Omega, Swerve Strickland, Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, Katsuyori Shibata, and Willow Nightingale against Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, The Young Bucks, and Marina Shafir. According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer notes, “There was a big brawl at the end of the show that included Gabe Kidd being involved for a second week in a row on Moxley’s team, which led to speculation it could change to a seven-on-seven match.”

If the match remains six-on-six, Meltzer suggests, “If not, there will be interference from Kidd almost for sure, which would also likely lead to someone making the save, with Kingston’s timing of a return making him the one most speculated on. It would make sense if he was ready.”

This potential return aligns with Kingston’s recovery timeline and storyline. Meltzer adds, “Just as a note, the last word we had about an Eddie Kingston return from his broken leg was May. Gabe Kidd showing up could end up being the catalyst for that as it would make sense since Kingston was injured when he was suplexed onto the barricade by Kidd and his leg was destroyed by the barricade so it’s a natural spot for a return.”

This is just speculation and there’s no official confirmation that Kingston could return here. “We’ve heard nothing in that direction as it would be something they’d keep quiet if it was happening, but it does make sense and unless there was a delay, Kingston’s return should be soon,” Meltzer concluded.
