There have been comparisons between Wardlow and Batista from the way they look to how they were booked early on in their careers.
Wardlow grew up as a fan of the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Before Batista became a main eventer, he was the silent bodyguard for the Evolution group and then turned on Triple H in 2005 where he went on to win the World Title at WrestleMania 21.
Although Wardlow has yet to reach main event status, he is on the trajectory as he had been the bodyguard for MJF and turned on the heel AEW star at the Revolution pay-per-view event.
“All right. So, obviously very flattering. I like to say, you know, being compared to people’s cool but. There’s only one Wardlow and I feel like you really can’t compare me to many. With that said, being compared to Batista is always going to make me blush just because I was a huge Batista fan and he is one of the best looking professional wrestlers to ever step in the ring, physique wise and he was one of the biggest superstars that wrestling ever created.”
Wardlow continued by stating that there are only a few guys that have become top stars in wrestling and then gone on to acting in Hollywood – John Cena, The Rock, and Batista. He wants to be one of them down the road.
Wardlow is days away from one of the biggest matches if not the biggest thus far in his pro wrestling career when he is expected to step into the ring with MJF at Sunday’s AEW Double Or Nothing pay-per-view event.
