CM Punk made his debut with All Elite Wrestling on Friday’s episode of AEW Rampage by opening the show. He is full-time with the promotion and commented on how the deal came together among various other topics during a media scrum.
Punk’s deal with the promotion will not impact him taking acting roles and continuing his work as an MMA commentator.
WarnerMedia, the partner company of TNT, and United States TV partner of AEW, is considering other ideas for Punk.
According to a report from PW Insider, it was noted that “it’s being seen within TNT that Punk has joined ‘their team’ and they are considering potential ideas for him beyond AEW.”
It should be noted that WarnerMedia now has part of the TV rights to the NHL so with Punk being a big Chicago Blackhawks fan, it’s possible that he could be part of a project with the hockey league.
Punk will wrestle his first match back against Darby Allin at All Out.
