WATCH: Chris Jericho on whether he thinks AEW needs to sign CM Punk

Chris Jericho spoke about a wide range of topics during a recent interview with Collider Live that includes being asked about former WWE Champion.

This is where Jericho said that AEW doesn’t need the former WWE Champion to be a part of their roster. Rumors of Punk signing with the promotion have been going on since they announced their launch back in January.

“Do we need him? No. Would it be a huge pop to get him? Yes. I don’t know, man. I don’t know what his attitude or mindset is. I think our roster is jam-packed right now.”

Jericho made it known that AEW is not looking to headhunt WWE but does think it’s funny that WWE stars are being offered double the money to stay with the company. He added that AEW doesn’t want to be WCW in 1998 or TNA in 2011 where they brought in older former WWE talent.

“We have enough guys that no one has seen before. We got a lot of young guys like Jungle Boy, MJF, both those guys are 23 years old. That appeals to a different demographic. My daughters are 12 and they don’t like wrestling but they like Jungle Boy.”
