After AEW Dynamite went off the air, Cody Rhodes grabbed the microphone and gave a speech for the fans in Atlanta, Georgia.
Cody asked the fans if they would stick around for the AEW Dark matches. He acknowledged the production crew, security and the vendors.
He then told a story about falling in love with wrestling when he was 8 years old and he didn’t really get to see his father in his prime but at one show, his dad put his hand on his chest and said “never steal another man’s pop.” Cody broke down crying talking about how loud the fans were cheering for his father.
Cody knew that he wanted to be famous like his father and he appreciated how hard the fans were on him when he first got into the wrestling business. He closed out by saying that he guarantees that AEW will return to Atlanta.
