Wednesday Night War 1/29/30: AEW Dynamite beats WWE NXT and ranks number 3 on cable for 18-49 demo

The ratings are in for AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT for the episodes that aired on 1/29/20.

AEW Dynamite won the night with 828,000 total live viewers and WWE NXT had 712,000 viewers. In the coveted 18-49 demographic, AEW Dynamite was the third most-watched show on cable on Wednesday night and NXT ranked as the 37th most-watched show on cable for the night.

NXT did not have an overrun to boost their number this week since USA Network made the decision that they needed to go off the air at 10 pm eastern so they can air the season premiere of Miz and Mrs.

NXT might get a boost in the coming weeks since it’s rumored that Charlotte Flair will be challenging Rhea Ripley for the NXT Championship at WrestleMania. If this happens, then it would mean that Flair would be appearing on several episodes of NXT in the coming weeks.

Here is the demographic breakdown for both shows:

Viewers 18-49: AEW 0.34 / NXT 0.22
Female viewers 18-49: AEW 0.20 / NXT 0.15
Male viewers 18-49: AEW 0.48 / NXT 0.28
Viewers 18-34: AEW 0.23 / NXT 0.14
Female viewers 12-34: AEW 0.13 / NXT 0.07
Male viewers 12-34: AEW 0.25 / NXT 0.15
