Wednesday Night War 7/29/20: AEW Dynamite beats WWE NXT despite decline in total viewership

The live viewership numbers for both AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT are in.

NXT was up and Dynamite was down in total viewers. It was Dynamite that took the night despite NXT being up across the board.

AEW Dynamite drew 773,000 live viewers and NXT drew 707,000 live viewers. Last week, AEW drew 845,000 while NXT drew 615,000.

As is the case in most weeks, AEW won the 18-49 demographic. NXT ranked #28 among the top 150 shows on cable while AEW was #6.

This was the first week that both shows had to go up against MLB games since the COVID-19 pandemic. Next week, they’ll have to also deal with NBA competition.

Viewers 18-49 – AEW: 0.30 / NXT: 0.18
Female viewers 18-49 – AEW: 0.22 / NXT: 0.14
Male viewers 18-49 – AEW: 0.39 / NXT: 0.22
Viewers 18-34 – AEW: 0.19 / NXT: 0.09
Female viewers 12-34 – AEW: 0.15 / NXT: 0.08
Male viewers 12-34 – AEW: 0.16 / NXT: 0.10
Viewers 25-54 – AEW: 0.34 / NXT: 0.22
Viewers 50+ – AEW: 0.27 / NXT: 0.37
