Speaking with Justin Barrasso for a new interview, Wheeler Yuta praised his stablemate Jon Moxley, highlighting the former AEW World Champion’s commitment to elevating the entire professional wrestling landscape. The interview comes shortly after Moxley’s loss at AEW Full Gear, where he submitted to Kyle O’Reilly, continuing a winless streak that has been ongoing since early October.
Yuta detailed Moxley’s approach to his career, noting that his motivation is always about improving the talent around him. “With Moxley, his goal is elevating everyone. His approach, whether it’s setting up his matches or thinking of what he’s going to say on the microphone, it’s all about pushing himself to get his absolute best,” Yuta said.
Yuta, a member of the stable alongside Moxley, noted that this dedication is why Moxley has maintained success across multiple companies and environments. “That’s why he’s thrived in so many systems and circumstances. Cream always rises to the top, and you see that with him,” Yuta noted.
Yuta noted that watching Moxley daily is a learning experience. “Being out there with him is incredible. Seeing him operate every day is even better,” Yuta explained. He added that Moxley’s immediate focus is always forward-thinking: “His focus is, ‘How can we get better today? and ‘What can we do today to make The Death Riders better?’”
Yuta, who has had the opportunity to team with Moxley in many big matches, concluded by stating his belief that Moxley is one of the best wrestlers of all time and that fans will eventually look back and fully appreciate his impact. “He’s making the world of wrestling better. That’s his focus, and he performs with such passion. One day we’ll look back and have a new appreciation for watching one of the all-time greats,” Yuta stated.
