Will Ospreay is looking to get a match booked against Kenny Omega at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door PPV.
Omega has been away since November after dropping the World Title to Adam Page at the Full Gear pay-per-view event. Omega took time off due to injuries that needed to be surgically repaired.
Omega is currently recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery that was done in March and recently got surgery done to repair his sports hernia. That’s about a two-month recovery.
Omega and Ospreay have previously exchanged words on social media. This morning, the top NJPW star tweeted about his upcoming match against Hiroshi Tanahashi at Wrestling Dontaku this Sunday where he noted he will be paying homage “to a wrestler that largely impacted my career, to show my appreciation for his contribution & sacrifice.”
Omega assumed Ospreay was talking about him. Ospreay responded with, “You gonna be alright for June?”
The first-ever jointly held pay-per-view event between AEW and NJPW will take place on June 26 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. A former WWE star recently called out CM Punk for a match at this show.
