WWE and AEW are making preparations in case there is another shutdown

As reported by Andrew Zarian on the Man Men Pro Wrestling podcast, WWE is moving forward with plans for SummerSlam and it’s not expected that Nevada will go into a lockdown before SummerSlam.

However, there are plans in case things get worse as the COVID-19 Delta variant continues to spread across the country.

In a worst-case scenario, all major shows (not just pro wrestling) could be in jeopardy and both WWE and AEW have made contingency plans in case there is another shutdown. In the case of AEW, they would simply move back to Daily’s Place in Jacksonville. It’s unclear what WWE’s plans are but they would likely have to go back to Florida and probably go back to the ThunderDome setup.

For SummerSlam, fans are being required to wear a mask. For the Madison Square Garden WWE show in September, fans are being required to show proof of vaccination. AEW’s show at Arthur Ashe Stadium is still on and, as of now, there is no need to show proof of vaccination because they have a retractable roof and only indoor venues must require proof of vaccination.

I would suggest for anyone who plans on going to the Arthur Ashe Stadium show get vaccinated just in case the rule changes in regards to showing proof.

Bodyslam.net first reported last week about contingency plans in case of a shutdown.
