A while back it was reported by Fightful about an AEW star whose contract is set to expire soon.
Fightful Select posted an update today and it looks like Brian Cage’s time in AEW could be winding down if a new deal is not reached.
The report states that Cage’s AEW deal is set to expire imminently and AEW was hoping to add time to his deal due to injury time he needed to heal up from injuries. The report adds that Cage pushed back on that and he wants to explore free agency.
Furthermore, it was stated that WWE has “maintained interest” in Cage if he becomes a free agent and there is interest in having discussions with him once his deal is up. Fightful has more on this story. It’s not a 100 percent lock that he will make the move to WWE and there have been supporters of Cage within AEW.
