There’s another big behind the scenes departure at Impact Wrestling. Again, as part of recent cost-cutting, David Sahadi has been let go. This is according to PWInsider.
At this point, it’s hard to be surprised when news like this gets out but he was working as Director and Producer for TNA/Impact since 2006 and he’s responsible for some of the awesome intro videos that aired before pay-per-views. Sahadi previously worked for WWE before joining TNA.
I sound like a broken record when I say this but expect more departures in the coming weeks. Their strategy is to cut all of the big money contracts and start from scratch.
The cost-cutting is necessary but they will need some recognizable names if they want viewers to tune into their product again. In an effort to entice talent to sign with them, they are allowing talent to keep everything they make on the independent scene and they will be allowed to keep their characters, even if the character was created and developed in Impact Wrestling. So, for example, someone like EC3 would be able to go to WWE under the same name.
Rafael Morffi, Impact’s live event tour manager, announced his departure on Tuesday.
