During this week's "Women's Wrestling Talk" podcast, Deonna Purazzo shared her feelings about the “Champ Champ Challenge."

"I wanted to call it the 'Champ Champ Invitational', but Impact was like 'Well, we're calling it the Champ Champ Challenge.' They were like 'We like the three C's, the Champ Champ Challenge', like, it just sounds good when you say it," she said.

"It's kind of annoying when you say, 'I'm the Champ Champ and this is the Champ Champ Challenge.' It gets under people's skin a little bit. So yeah, it worked."

"It was kind of like, okay, she has these two championships. We worked out this great relationship with Ring of Honor while they're in this unknown time to kind of do whatever we want with this. It still kept me on top of our division being the Champ Champ having two championships, but being able to constantly defend them. Then up until that point with the AAA Reina de Reinas championship, it kind of took a backseat during mine and Mickie's (James) whole storyline because it was for the Knockouts Championship," Purrazzo continued.

"Then we did a rematch for the Knockouts Championship, and I wasn't necessarily defending the AAA Reina de Reinas championship. So it was a way to get that back on TV in a prominent position and really showcase it more. So I think that there was a tremendous amount of business that was done with the Champ Champ Challenge. But then also it was a fun way to have surprise women come in, wrestle me, and have these one on one, one time only dream matches and things like that."
