Eric Young is on the sidelines and will be out of action for several months due to a torn ACL.
The Impact Wrestling star shared the news during an appearance on the Wrestling Perspective Podcast. He suffered the injury while working the most recent set of TV tapings and will be out of action for 6-9 months. However, his goal is to make it back within six months.
“I was telling Petey [Williams] this, at the last tapings I tore my ACL. It’s the first time I’ve ever been injured. I missed my first wrestling show this Friday that I was booked on in 24 years of doing it. So, it’s frustrating man.
I’ve never been injured. I’ve been hurt lots, but I’ve never been injured. I have to have surgery in like a week and a half and it’s going to be a long, long road. So, we’ll see man. It’s going to get real interesting for me.”
He continued by noting that it happened during a match against James Storm, but he finished the match. To his credit, he worked two more matches during the same taping.
As it stands right now, he’s not sure if he’ll remain on television while recovering from injury. You can watch the entire interview by clicking on the player below (quotes can be found at the 15:00 minute mark):
