Former TNA Knockout to serve 18 months in jail
Former TNA Knockout Ayako Hamada has been sentenced to 18 months in jail in Japan due to possession of stimulants in her home.
Last May, she told the promoter for Pro-Wrestling WAVE that she would be missing an event because she was being held at knifepoint. It was later revealed that she had tested positive for drugs and she admitted that she inhaled them through her nose.
The sentence may sound harsh but this is how drug convictions are handled in Japan because they are very strict when it comes to drugs in their country. Hamada, the daughter of the legendary Gran Hamada, is a 2-time TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion.
Her arrest back in May led to Pro-Wrestling WAVE and Sendai Girls Pro Wrestling severing ties with her.
