As expected, for the second straight year, Impact Wrestling has not only teased that some former WWE stars could be headed to the promotion, but the company has actually reached out to them.
Fightful Select reports the promotion reached out to multiple WWE releases from this past April, but it’s unclear whether they have firm contracts or deals in place.
In the commercial to promote their Slammiversary pay-per-view event Saturday, July 17th, Samoa Joe, Chelsea Green, and Mickie James were featured in it. These wrestlers were among the ten wrestlers that were released by WWE back in April.
The other names include Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, Tucker, Kalisto, Bo Dallas, Wesley Blake, and Mojo Rawley. Their 90-day non-compete clause expires in July so they will be free and clear to appear at Slammiversary.
Last year, Impact reached out to the Good Brothers within 15 minutes of their releases and Brian Myers within a week of his release. These stars came to terms for deals with the promotion.
