Impact Wrestling offers a contract to a top independent star

Impact Wrestling

The indie wrestling world might be the brightest it's been since the territory days. At this point, a top pro wrestler doesn't need to be attached to a huge company to make a living as so many have already proved.

Jeff Cobb is one of the top names in indie wrestling for a reason. His experience in the ring coupled with his extremely talented moveset helps him excel and pull off some amazing feats of human strength and ability. Needless to say, if you've never seen a Jeff Cobb match I highly recommend it.

But as it turns out there might be a couple places where Cobb won't be appearing as often very soon. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports his character Mantanza Cueto lost a Human Sacrifice Match against Johnny Mundo during the recent Lucha Underground tapings. The loser of this kind of match sees their character "die" in the storyline. Therefore, it is noted Cobb is now a free agent and able to go wherever he wants.

It was also reported that Cobb was offered a two-year contract for Impact Wrestling but he hasn't accepted it. It's not clear if he is still considering the offer or if he is looking at other options. This is also incredibly interesting especially when you consider the fact that Jeff Cobb recently posted a picture in front of the New Japan Pro Wrestling dojo in California while saying, "let the rumors begin."

Therefore, you never know where Cobb could turn up next but from the looks of things he's shortening his list of where he is going to be working longterm for a while.
