Impact Wrestling star attempts to gain trademark rights to ring name

Taya Valkyrie, real name Kira Magnin-Forster, is attempting to lock down the trademark rights to her ring name.

She filed for the name on December 10th with The United States Patent and Trademark Office. The filing notes that the Impact Wrestling star has been using the name since 2010.

Anyone who wants to get this type of trademark, they need a letter of consent and she attached it via an electronic signature as well as included a photo of her in wrestling school.

Valkyrie has been one of the top stars in the Knockouts division since joining the promotion. It should be noted that her contract with Impact does reportedly expire at the end of the year.

Now, she will have to wait for an examining attorney to take a look at the filing, which could take up to three months. Here is the description for the filing:

International Class 041: Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network.
