Joey Ryan signs multi-year deal with Impact Wrestling

Joey Ryan

One of the surprise entrants in the "call your shot" gauntlet battle royal at Bound For Glory was Joey Ryan.

It looks like he will be a fixture with the company because he has signed a multi-year contract with the promotion. The news was first reported by SoCal Uncensored.

Ryan did some of his trademark crotch spots to entertain the crowd but he was eventually eliminated from the match by Sawyer Fulton.

Ryan had interest from WWE earlier this year but they seemed more interested in transitioning him into a backstage role. It would have been very unlikely that they would have allowed him to do some of the same d*ck spots that he currently does on the independent scene. Ryan also reportedly turned down an offer from All Elite Wrestling.

The SoCal Uncensored story stated that Ryan chose to sign with Impact Wrestling because they will allow him to continue working on the independent scene, where he can continue to work in intergender matches. He will also continue to run his Bar Wrestling promotion.

Ryan's earlier run with Impact in the early 2010s was lackluster but it looks like he will be one of the main characters on the Impact Wrestling show when it debuts on AXS TV in a couple of weeks.

Here is a clip from Ryan's return to the company in a stripper segment from the September 20th episode:
