Kurt Angle strongly hints towards a future fight with Ken Shamrock

Kurt Angle appeared on Friday night’s Bellator 145 broadcast on Spike TV. He was the guest commentator for the Bobby Lashley vs. James Thompson fight. Angle was asked if there was a chance that he could fight in the Bellator cage. Angle said, “I’m not gonna tease everybody but there’s a possibility. We’ll see…but i’m getting my feet wet here in Bellator and having a good time. I’m gonna sit back for once in my life, relax and watch and eventually i’ll make that decision.”

Later in the show they showed Ken Shamrock and Kurt Angle hanging out with Scott Coker. Bellator announcer Sean Grande then said that twitter would be blowing up. Grande then said, with Shamrock and Angle still on the TV screen, “what does this mean?”

Later in the broadcast, Kurt Angle announced that Ken Shamrock would take on Royce Gracie and the fight will happen on February 19th at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Angle said that he hopes to fight Ken Shamrock one day but that fight would not take place on February 19. It sure does look like they are headed in the direction of a future Shamrock vs. Angle fight. If not, then they did everything to make fans think that the fight would be happening at some point next year.

Angle has had discussions with different promotions since he left WWE in 2006. He was in serious discussions with UFC on at least a couple of occasions but that was several years ago. There were also talks (several years ago) for an Angle vs. Ken Shamrock fight but that deal fell through.

Angle’s TNA deal expires in January and he has already indicated that he would not be signing a new deal with them.
