As noted earlier this week, the latest TNA deal not to be renewed was ODB (Jessica Kresa). She played Eric Young’s wife in storylines. She actually tried out for the first season of Tough Enough back in 2001 but was cut. After that she started training to become a wrestler. She appeared as ODB in 2003 and was in WWE’s developmental system in 2006 and 2007. It was said that she showed more personality than the other women that were there but WWE was “looking for 10s,” so women that were less over then she was got deals.
In 2007 she was contacted by TNA to be in a battle royal and impressed them enough to get signed to a deal. She left the company in 2010 and returned in 2011. Her last TNA appearance was in April on an episode of Xplosion.
There were several people in the TNA offices that were let go because of cost cutting. The office was said to be a skeleton crew even before these cuts. Jimmy Jay (the guy that replaced Don West) was one of the people that they let go. Dewey Barnes, their other merchandise guy, was also let go. Barnes worked briefly as enhancement talent when EC3 debuted. Also, with Rafael Morfi gone, it appears that they are cutting back on house shows going forward. Morfi was in charge of promoting house shows.
