Report: Discovery Channel signed TNA as an experiment for TV ratings

When the Discovery channel signed TNA it was as an experiment, according to the latest report in the Wrestling Observer newsletter. That experiment has gone bad and bad fast after they realized that TNA wasn’t generating ad revenue.

While TNA is the highest rated show in the history of the station, which one would think would be a huge positive for the company’s standing, the network felt that TNA would bring a larger percentage of their audience to come with them but that hasn’t happened.

Obviously this news is not good and the timing is not so good either with reports of pay issues with several of their talent and the news coming out today that Taz is no longer with the company.
