TNA’s Bob Ryder went on to deny the report. He wrote:
More sloppy reporting. If you label something “exclusive” it should be accurate. Wrestling “journalism” isn’t what it used to be.
Giri made one mistake (he’s corrected it since then) when he originally reported that Gaburick was currently in New York City. Gaburick was in New York City this past weekend and on Monday. The company is also looking to to set up more TV tapings in New York City since the announcement is said to imminent. The company wants to shoot more TV when the deal is announced.
Giri added that Dixie Carter will be making an announcement on Friday.
Gaburick is in Nashville today.
That said, most of the story is not inaccurate. But it’s not a story yet.
PWInsider should be careful about being used for denials on these things. If the deal falls through, they are right. If it doesn’t, it’ll look bad in a week or two.
Meltzer read the original report that said that Gaburick was currently in New York but confirmed that most of the story is accurate.
