Impact Wrestling held Impact TV tapings on Thursday night from Orlando, FL at Universal Studios. Here are the spoilers:
— Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards brawling their way out to start the show. They brawl into the crowd.
— Jeremy Borash came and said that there would be a new announcer tonight. He revealed that he is the new announcer and told Josh Mathews that new management wants someone out there that the fans like. Borash brought up Mathews disrespecting the fans, legends, and it’s time to change things up. Borash said that Mike Tenay mentored him to be the next announcer, but someone got fired from WWE and the old dummy owners hired Mathews. This led to Mathews firing back at him and said that he sat under the learning tree of Jim Ross and called WM, he came to TNA for free. Borash stated that he’s friends with Jim Ross and JR thinks that Matthews sucks.
— Cody Rhodes comes out says it’s time to start the show. He asks the audience who wants to see Cody vs. Moose tonight.
— Reno Scum defeat DCC. Dissension is teased in the DCC after the match.
— Braxton Sutter defeats Marshe Rockett, DJZ, & Caleb Konley in a 4-way match.
— Brandie Rhodes was supposed to wrestle KC Quinn, but Cody Rhodes walked out and offered Quinn $45 to leave. Rhodes challenges Moose for the Impact Grand Championship. Rosemary comes from the crowd and attacks Quinn.
— Bruce Prichard walked out and said that there was an Impact with the hope a few years ago, but for whatever reason, it didn’t happen. TNA as a name is dead. He said that Impact Wrestling is officially the only name this company goes by from this point forward and that the new owners looked for people who have achieved greatness in the past, and he has been there for it all. He stated that he knows how to make wrestling great, and he certainly knows how to make an Impact. He said that it is important to know the face of the company, and brings out Bobby Lashley. This led to Lashley saying that he has beat everyone and was the official choice of the President of the United States. This led to Alberto El Patron (Alberto Del Rio) walking out then EC3, who said that El Patron needs to earn his shot and that he has carried this company for years. Lashley says that EC3 lost to him already and won’t get a shot. Lashley and El Patron will wrestle tonight.
— Dutch Mantell comes down to the ring and said that he is here because 8 years ago TNA was great and he’s here to make Impact great again. He brought how Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Sting, Kurt Angle, Bobby Roode, Christian and Kevin Nash used to be here but they left because of a lack of leadership, vision, and respect. He brought that the biggest issue was that the fans left and he wants to bring them back. He said that he only answers to his boss, and his boss is the fans. He asked everyone to stand and say “We The People… will make Impact great!”
— Cody Rhodes called Moose out again but Jeremy Borash reminds Rhodes that Moose is in Japan. Rhodes then walked to the back.
— Garza Jr & Laredo Kid defeat Eli Drake & Tyrus.
— Sienna defeats Rachael Ellering.
— Alberto El Patron defeated Bobby Lashley to become the new Impact Wrestling Champion after a referee bump and Patron hitting Lashley with the belt. However, Bruce Prichard came out to argue about the finish of the match with other officials while Patron walked out with the belt. Next week’s show will go off the air with Patron thinking that he won the title. This will be the main event of the March 9th episode of Impact.
— Moose was supposed to wrestle Eli Drake but Cody Rhodes ran out and attacked him. He then gives him crossroads on the stage.
— Moose retains the Grand Championship over Cody Rhodes by split decision. Bruce Prichard was one of the judges. Brandi Rhodes walked out on Cody before the third round. This match will air on the March 16th episode of Impact.
