On Monday, PWinsider.com reported that Impact Champion Brian Cage was slated to make an appearance. Cage at was backstage at the show and even prepared to wrestle but once Impact officials heard he was at the show, they contacted Cage and informed him he could not appear due to his Impact deal.
He would’ve likely worked the Casino Battle Royale on the pre-show that aired on social media. It should be noted that Tommy Dreamer, who works on the Impact creative team, did appear in the Battle Royal.
Impact Wrestling is slated to hold their Slammiversary XVII pay-per-view event on July 7, 2019, in Dallas, Texas at Gilley’s Dallas. The event will air on traditional PPV outlets and the FITE TV app.
Cage, who won the championship by defeating Johnny Impact at the Rebellion pay-per-view event in April, will defend his title against Michael Elgin at this show.
