Velvet Sky and Angelina Love on why they did not like Dixie Carter or John Gaburick

Velvet Sky and Angelina Love had a lot to say about their time in TNA on the latest episode of “The Beautiful Podcast.”

Here are some highlights:

Velvet Sky talking about John Gaburick: “One of our least favorite people in the business was John Gaburick. I have my own reasons for not being on the same page with him. When he came into TNA, obviously we were already established as a heel b**ch, Beautiful People. We were already doing our thing. He came to TNA. Vince (Russo) was gone. I remember he wanted to take our entrance away.”

Angelina Love added: “You quit in 2012 and you quit a month or two later. This was before Big’s time. He acted like he didn’t know us at first. When we both quit, you went back in 2013 and I went back in 2014. When Christy Hemme called me she said, ‘Big doesn’t really know a lot about the Beautiful People and what you did.’ I said, ‘There is a whole tape library he can watch of s**t we did from 2007 until now. How is he going to come into TNA and act like he doesn’t know who the Beautiful People are because we were killing it everywhere.’ His whole thing was like, ‘You are the heels. You can’t give the fans what they want.’ I was like, but that is what made us the biggest thing in 2007 and 2008. A lot of people who came in to try to save the company wouldn’t want to go with a lot of things that were already established because they were prior ideas. Well, you can’t pretend like those things that work don’t exist.”

Sky said they were not a fan of Dixie Carter:

“There’s this huge misconception of her that she’s so sweet. I’m not hating on her because people are like, ‘Well, if it wasn’t for her, there would be no TNA.’ Yea, good, she served her purpose. She was the money person and I give her props for that. But, the way she treated people, I’m sorry. I’m real. I see through the bulls**t. I’m not an a*s kisser. There were a lot of people in the company, male and female, that did kiss her a*s. I was not one of them.  You were not one of them. I did not give a f**k if she liked me or not. I was contracted under Jeff Jarrett. Jeff Jarrett signed my contract, not Dixie Carter. I don’t have to do s**t to appease her. I wasn’t a b**ch to her. I didn’t go out of my way to be a b**ch to her. If we were face to face it would be like, ‘Yes, hello. How are you?’, out of respect because I’m not a disrespectful person. She was just vile, that’s all.”
