“Filthy” Tom Lawlor confirms he is a free agent

“Filthy” Tom Lawlor has announced that he is on the free agent market after wrapping up a successful run in MLW.

Fightful Select first reported back on October 18th that Lawlor was no longer with MLW as his contract expired before MLW holds its next set of TV tapings this month.

It will be interesting to see whether WWE or AEW has an interest in signing him. Lawlor issued the following statement:

“As of today, I am a free agent in the world of professional wrestling. Thank you to @mlw @courtbauer @MSL @beINSPORTSUSA for the time & effort they put in with me. But mostly I’d like to thank the MLW staff, wrestlers past & present, and fans for the 4 years of memories! #mlw.”

MLW CEO Court Bauer thanked Lawlor for his time with the promotion when he wrote, “Thank you for your tour of duty, Tom. You were a wonderful collaborator and member of the family. I look forward to your next chapter. See you on down the road, Filthy.”

Lawlor was part of MLW’s relaunch in 2017 and later became the MLW World Champion in February 2019 when he beat Low Ki. Lawlor also had a longstanding feud with Marshall & Ross Von Erich and was the leader of Team Filthy while working for the promotion.

Lawlor is still working with NJPW for their Strong brand as he is the NJPW Strong Openweight Champion after winning the New Japan Cup USA tournament.
