Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, And Wolfgang Sign With MLW As GBOT: “Glasgow Boys On Top”

Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, and Wolfgang have signed contracts with Major League Wrestling, according to an exclusive report from The Takedown on SI. The trio, formerly known as Gallus in WWE, will compete in MLW under the new faction name GBOT, which stands for Glasgow Boys on Top.

The group made their surprise MLW debuts at Battle Riot VIII earlier this year. Less than two months later, all three have signed deals with the promotion.

“We wanted to go and show what we could do. And it just seemed like a really good environment to be in,” Joe Coffey told The Takedown on SI. “MLW has a deep and talented roster, and a lot of people who I really want to go mix it up with.”

Coffey said the new name reflects a change in mindset from their time in WWE. “We are the GBOT. It stands for a lot of things, but it’s Glasgow Boys on Top,” he said. “I’ve done my time, just playing my part and being a good soldier. I’m not here just to make up any numbers. I’m here to show what Joe Coffey is all about.”

Coffey also put the MLW World Heavyweight Champion Killer Kross on notice. “Killer Kross, I’m not really interested in him. I’m interested in what he’s got around his waist, to be honest,” he said.

AEW Interest and Wrestling Tribalism

Reports from WrestleVotes Radio in January indicated that people backstage in AEW were pushing to bring the trio into the company. That did not happen, and GBOT chose MLW instead. Coffey said the decision was about keeping options open and rejecting tribalism in wrestling.

“The tribalism in pro wrestling, I’m not really a fan of. I couldn’t really care less,” Coffey said. “The business is thriving as a whole, so I don’t understand why people aren’t happy.”

He recalled his own experience as a fan when WCW closed in 2001 and how disappointed he was at the time, only to later realize it was an overreaction. “Looking back, I go, why did you feel like that? It’s stupid. There was so much talent in that one company at the time,” he said.

Coffey said MLW was the right fit. “MLW is the place I want to be because it’s going forward, it’s moving forward, it’s pushing on, it’s becoming bigger and bigger every time. So that’s something I want to attach my name to,” he said.

Visa Issues After WWE Release

Gallus signed with WWE for the NXT UK brand in 2018 and moved to NXT proper in 2022 before all three were released in May 2025. Coffey revealed that after the release, he was stranded in the United States for months because his work visa was tied to his WWE contract.

“Being an international talent, people don’t see that side of things,” Coffey said. “Our visa was attached to our contract. I’ve set up a life here. I’ve got a girlfriend who’s from Orlando. I had to go home, so I didn’t see her for, I don’t know, four months. It was a longer process than I wanted.”

He said the period after his release was far from the glamorous free agent experience fans might imagine. “People think, oh, it’s all roses. And then they think you’ll leave WWE and you’ll do all these signings. Nah, it doesn’t work like that,” Coffey said. “Especially because, let’s be honest, we were cooled off majorly on the way out. So I’m basically starting from square one again, and I’m hungry.”

Coffey also took a shot at his limited mic time during his WWE tenure. “Actually give me a microphone as well, you barely had me talk for three years,” he said. “I can talk the hind legs off a donkey. Not a problem.”
